Granville, Oxted

New Build

2027

Under Construction

A new family home in Oxted that combines traditional gabled forms and masonry with a more open, contemporary approach to family living.

Granville is a new-build family home in Oxted, designed around a pair of prominent gables that give the house a strong but familiar presence within its residential setting. The architecture draws on traditional forms and materials without attempting to replicate a period property, combining pale brickwork, dark metal detailing and carefully proportioned openings.

The character of the house changes towards the garden. Here, the more traditional pitched forms sit above a lower ground-floor element, where large areas of glazing open the principal living spaces directly onto the terrace and garden. This allows the rear of the house to feel considerably lighter and more open, while the upper floors retain the simple proportions of the gabled elevations.

The contrast between the more formal front elevation and open garden elevation reflects the way the house is used: a composed street presence alongside generous, connected spaces for everyday family life.
