Tudor House, Ashtead

Set within generous grounds, this house was in poor condition when the owners approached us. The brief was to bring it back into use and add a modest extension that would make it better suited to everyday family life.

Dark timber cladding takes its cue from the house’s traditional Tudor detailing, helping the new addition sit comfortably alongside the existing building. The extension’s broad frame gives the house a more substantial base when viewed from the garden, while keeping the original elevations visible above. It also extends beyond the glazing to form a canopy, providing shade and a covered place to sit outside.

The wider scheme includes a new outbuilding accommodating additional living space and garages.
